#176YearsOfAwesome

My GrandPR team created a multi-faceted, statewide celebration for Michigan's 176th Birthday for our client, Awesome Mitten. This event featured a cake baking contest hosted on their website and Facebook page, "tweet up" events in seven different cities across the state and the successful establishment of the #176YearsOfAwesome hashtag.

With our strategic communication plan, we were able to obtain 24 sponsors, earn 7 key media placements and spark online engagement from over 7,000 users during the contest. Awesome Mitten saw an increase of 800 “likes” their Facebook page and a 20% increase in traffic on their website. Our team won a silver PRoof Award from the West Michigan PRSA for this campaign - becoming the first student-run firm to do so.
